Calculation of Characteristic Sizes for Measurement in Open Geometry According to DIN ISO 11929
Measurement Uncertainty in Open Geometry
The determination of the characteristic quantities according to DIN ISO 11929 for a gamma spectrometric measurement in open geometry using experimental determination of the intrinsic detector efficiency according to Filß's method can be carried out with the linked calculation tool. The connection with DIN 11929 is described in an application example. For use, override the (arbitrarily) predefined parameters in the white input fields. An immediate calculation of the characteristic quantities and a current evaluation will take place.
Notes:
-
Note that the determination is carried out for only one energy and one characteristic line at a time.
-
A connection of the results for different characteristic lines of a radionuclide does not take place.
-
The correction factor K1 must be entered manually. For the determination of K1 you can find a calculation tool for K1 here.
-
The correction factor K2 must be entered manually. For the determination of K2 you can find a calculation tool for K2 here.
-
By using the calculation tools for K1 and the calculation tools for K2, "what-if" studies can be conducted.
-
By entering a value for the reference quantity, a suitability check of the measurement procedure can be performed.
