Calculation of Characteristic Sizes for Measurement in Collimated Geometry

Measurement Uncertainty in Collimated Geometry

The determination of the characteristic values according to DIN ISO 11929 for a gamma spectrometric measurement in collimated geometry with experimental determination of the calibration value H' according to the method of Filß can be carried out with the linked calculation tool. The connection with DIN 11929 is described in a use case. For use, overwrite the (arbitrarily) provided parameters in the white input fields. An immediate calculation of the characteristic values and a current assessment of the calculated values take place.

Notes:
  • Note that the determination is only made for one energy and one characteristic line.
  • A connection of the results for different characteristic lines of a nuclide does not occur.
  • The correction factor K1 must be entered manually. For the determination of K1, you can find a calculation tool for K1 here.
  • The correction factor K2 must be entered manually. For the determination of K2, you can find calculation tool for K2 here.
  • By using the calculation tool for K1and the calculation tools for K2 “what-if” studies can be conducted.
  • Entering a value for the target value allows a suitability test for the measurement method to be conducted.
